Hands-on Artificial Intelligence workshops for Lighthouse International School's annual STEM event — empowering students to build real solutions with AI.
Students interact with AI daily, but most use it passively — asking ChatGPT for homework answers or generating images. This workshop shifts the paradigm: from consumers of AI to builders with AI. Students will design, configure, and deploy their own AI-powered tools in a single session.
Punta Blanca Solutions is an AI strategy and implementation firm based in Costa Rica, serving enterprises across Latin America. We design and deploy AI agents, business intelligence platforms, and automation systems for financial services, healthcare, and the public sector.
We build production-grade AI agents for banks, healthcare providers, and government organizations. Our team understands AI from architecture to deployment.
We have delivered AI workshops for university students and faculty at the Tecnologico de Costa Rica, and introductory AI sessions in underserved communities such as Cariari, Limon.
Luis Sandi (Co-founder) and Jurguen Bermudez (CTO) are fully bilingual and experienced presenting technical content in English and Spanish to diverse audiences.
Beyond commercial work, Punta Blanca is committed to impacting the next generation by making AI education accessible, practical, and inspiring for young people.
Every student creates their own specialized AI agent — a science tutor, a sports analyst, a music recommender — tailored to a topic they care about. They leave with something they built and can keep using.
A working AI agent they designed and built themselves — something they can show their parents, iterate on, and keep using. No installation required, fully browser-based.
Each student receives an "Agent Design Card" — a structured template that guides their thinking before they touch the tool. This ensures the building phase is focused and productive.
The difference between using AI passively and building AI intentionally. Critical thinking about what makes a good AI agent: clear purpose, defined boundaries, and structured instructions.
Teams of 4–5 students work as consultants: identify a real problem, design a solution, and prototype it using AI and automation tools — thinking like entrepreneurs before touching any code.
A working prototype or clear concept of an AI-powered solution they designed and built as a team — plus the experience of pitching their idea, a skill that extends far beyond the classroom.
Each team receives a "Consultant Brief" canvas — a structured one-pager that forces problem definition before solution building. This mirrors how real consulting engagements work.
Entrepreneurial thinking: define the problem before you touch the tool. AI is an amplifier for good ideas, not a replacement for thinking. Structuring the idea is 80% of the work — the technology is just the last mile.

This workshop is offered at a symbolic rate as part of Punta Blanca's social impact mission. The standard rate for enterprise AI workshops of this scope is significantly higher. In exchange, we request permission to document and share the experience (see Partnership Terms).
While one group participates in the AI workshop, the other completes the internal STEM challenge. Both workshops run back-to-back within the half-day event window.
As part of this collaboration, Punta Blanca requests permission to document the event for professional and promotional use. This is a core component of the value exchange behind the reduced workshop rate.
All media will be used professionally and respectfully. No individual student will be identified by name without explicit parental consent. Content can be shared with the school for review before publication upon request. The school retains the right to request removal of specific content at any time.
Punta Blanca is offering this workshop at a symbolic rate as part of its education and social impact mission. The ability to document and share the experience allows us to demonstrate our commitment to community impact — which helps fund future initiatives like this one.
We're ready to bring this to life. Let's confirm the date and make it happen.
